I am a 34-year-old American living in the
Hague.
I am an accountant but I can't work right now
because the IND is taking forever to process my
papers. I keep busy by trying to learn Dutch,
going to the gym, volunteering at the animal
shelter, and helping friends.
I have lived in a lot of places: Texas,
California, Washington (D.C.), Montréal, Paris,
Provence and now the Netherlands (whew!). I
came
to Europe to be with my boyfriend who is French
and works in the Netherlands. I like to travel
but right now I would be happy to stay in one

It's so hard, and boring, to improve a new
language when your only conversations are at the
