About me: Well, I work for an art consulting firm in the framing department. I enjoy the creative atmosphere as I am an artist myself. I prefer the flemish style and romanticism but also love Munch and Expressionism. My other passion is History, mostly European history and culture. I had a life changing experience in Germany (Dresden) and in the summer I will be back in school with the intention of majoring in German Studies and minoring in Art. Most of my time is spent reading, painting, and writing. I don't go out much because I find knowledge and revelation more interesting than socializing and partying. I can be a hermit but I have a good sense of humor (a little dry though). I guess this will give you a basic idea for now.
Interests: Painting, reading, watching films that make you think, philosophy and religion, history, visual art, other cultures and people. I'm also very fond of antiquity and the first half of the 20th century.
Favorite Music: Wagner, Tom waits, Leonard Cohen, Classic Jazz, Opera, Classical, David Bowie, and alot more...
Favorite Book(s): Non-fiction mostly, The Destiny of Man, The Alchemist, alot of philosophy and religious writings, Dear Theo. History is where my passion is.
Favorite Movie(s): Silent films, Downfall, Gandhi, Edvard Munch, and so many more...
I think a true friend is someone who: loyal, honest and dependable for starters.
About the penpal I'd like: I'm interested in writing someone from Germany. I prefer snailmail because of it's more personal nature. It's a lost art in itself. I need to better my German and I can help with someones English as well. I am willing to talk about anything because it's the best way to get to know someone and one's culture. It would also be nice to send things like coffee, sweets, magazines, whatever. Males or Females are welcome although I prefer to write Females but not for romantic reasons. I would also be interested in someone from China.
