About me:
Hello, in these weird times we are currently living in, I thought,
I’m going to
search for a pen pal. Laughing is great medicine and hopefully
we can share some of that! I just
turned 50. I
love to laugh. When I was a wee girl I did have a pen pal who
lived in
Germany and I’ve always loved writing letters. I remember the
excitement I
would get when I got a letter from her. Ahhh the days before
email! Lol. I
live in Canada. The majority of my family were from Scotland.
My father
was born there, my grandparents were born there and I have
other uncles
and cousins who were from there. The other side of my family
were from
England. My father passed away in 1994 at age 49, so it was a
little bit
strange turning 50 and being older than him. My mother also
passed away
in 2012 and I have no siblings. It can be very lonely at times
and I thought
what would be better than writing letters and learning about
someone else
across the world. It is my dream, one day, to go to the UK and
see with my
own eyes the things my dad saw, even though I know these
years that
have passed, it probably looks different from what he saw with
his own
eyes when he left there in 1967 to live in Canada. I even have
his old
address where he grew up. I was married, but my husband
passed away in
2019 of brain tumors. It was unexpected and very fast, which
I’m grateful
for in that he did not suffer at all. I have one son, he’s 16. He is
a very good
son and we do okay together. It’s not always easy, but get on
with things :).
We don’t have any family, but we have a nice circle of friends,
and they can
be as good or better than family can be LOL. I love animals
and I have a
dog named Lucy. She is a Doberman crossed with I don’t
know what!
Maybe Rottweiler, maybe Shepherd?? She’s lovely and she is
such
fantastic company. I love taking her for walks. I also have a cat
named
Mittens (very generic I know! Lol my son named her when he
was 11). I
love listening to music, baking, watching movies, reading,
knitting. I hope
that something here sounds fun and/or interesting enough that
maybe we
could write and enjoy company from afar. |

Come on and joke with me, discuss movies that you’ve seen
or good books you might have read, what are some of your
favorite shows on TV, favorite music that you like listening to,
hobbies, any pets? I would really like someone from Scotland
or England, just because that’s where my family originated
from before they moved to Canada. I would like a man to write
me and to be honest, I miss that kind of contact and
conversation. Hopefully you are around my age of 50 to 55.
