About me:
I live in the state of Missouri near the
geographic center of the U.S.A. I spent most of
my professional life working with young people,
earlier as a youth pastor and later with deaf
students at our state school for the deaf from
which I retired in 2015. My wife and I have one
son and one daughter who live nearby; we also
have two grandchildren, one boy and one girl.
When I'm not studying I work on our small farm,
build things and care for our assortment of
animals.
As regards this pen pal venture, I've known
bible history since childhood but have recently
been studying Judaism from a non-biblical
perspective including Zionism. I hope to visit
the Holy Land eventually. I have deep respect
for Israel and its citizens, as well as
diaspora Jews. I'm trying diligently to
understand the culture. |

I'm willing to talk to anyone, however, at this
moment I'm particularly interested in the place
of women in modern Israel. Unlike most of the
rest of the Middle East, I understand Israeli
women to be equal stakeholders.
Also, Holocaust survivors or the offspring
thereof would be interesting to talk with. I'm
not particularly interested in political
conversation but I am very concerned about some
things that are happening in my country at the
hands of our Democratic Party. I don't want
Israel to experience any discomfort because of
trends I see growing here. |
